Sports
play a very important role in each individual’s life as sports ensure a
healthier health which is the equivalent to being wealthier. As each of us is
different from one another like, which one loves might be hated by the other
and in which one excels the other one might fail. In order to showcase sporty talent in a
person and because of the importance of sports in our life, sports day was held
on 9th April 2016. After all
the selection of runners, broad jumpers, high jumpers, and so on from various
houses it was the final selection to choose one of the best.
It
was 7:50 AM sharp in the morning when we are entered the athletic ground
decorated by bright colored pieces of cloths around which showed the line of
demarcation and very interestingly there was a first aid tent at the corner
that indicated how mindful and caring the staffs are concerning the health of
the students.
Other At 8:30 AM all the participants of the
drill and Parade assembled in the ground which was surrounded by the synthetic
track getting ready from their upcoming event which they had been practicing
for a long time. At 9:00 AM a reverent
silence fell over the crowd as the highly honorable chief guest Lyonpo Jigme
Zangpo was warmly welcomed by respected principal with other staffs and school
captains who were earlier receiving parents who came to witness their child’s
program.
As
soon as the minister entered from the entrance,
Sir. Penjor Gyalsten (HEP) blew the whistle which was meant for the
drill to start. In order to welcome his
Excellency, the drill as usual was performed by the class seven students of all
the houses with basketball on a Bhutanese song which they had been practicing
from a month ago. Wow the drill was really refreshing the way it was
synchronized and choreographed it was really wonderful.
The
warmly welcomed Lyonpo inbounded towards the tent as the drill ended headed by
two scouts pilot and we all sang our National Anthem With pride in a pleasant
and audible voice after the Troop Leaders command. It was followed by Marchang
Ceremony, then Lighting of Olympic torch which was lit by the Chief Guest
followed by Oath Taking Ceremony. Soon after the welcome speech it was followed
by address of chief Guest Who with all the knowledge spoke fondly. At 9:40 AM all the parade event started to
take place which generally begin with Sernya house along with the music being
the played followed by Dungkar house, Pema house, Bumpa house, and finally by
Khorlo. Wow, the house parade, was one
of the eye catchy events, as on the houses did such an amazing job, their
lively and shaky moves accompanied by latest songs that really changed the
atmosphere and the participants as well as the audience were enjoying to their
fullest.
After
all of the tracks events the most awaited moment came which was the giving of
certificates and Medals to the winners in their respective field by the chief
guest. The best athletic boy award was also rewarded to Pema Wangchuk of class 10”A”
and the best athletic girl awarded to Sangye Dema Thinley of 8”A”. The parade
competiton was won by Khorlo housecontributing 30 marks to their respective
house followed by Pelyab house and Pema house and the best house for the year
2016 was entitled to Sernya house of with 874 points bringing great sense of pride
andsatisfaction to house coordinators and the members.
Finally the Taryana lottery draw was held and all of the
students kept their fingers crossed with a great expectation and finally the
lottery toke was chosen and the first and second winners were not identified
so, they went for third winner announcing for Priyanka Biswa of class 10”A”.
Finally the sports day ended around 12:30 with the vote of
thanks by Games Captain.
