The world water day, 2016

 The world water day

The world water day in Lungtenzampa middle secondary school was held during the morning assembly. There were captains who spoke about the importance of water and others.  Moreover, some students of class X“G” performed a song about the world water day. The song was about how to use water, when to use them, importance of water, etc. Not only that, some other students of classes IX and X also did a play about the way of how people use water, how people waste water, and how some of them are suffering from the shortage of water.
The world water day was observed on 22nd march since 1993.It was declared by the United Nations general assembly. The purpose was to celebrate the world water day is to remind that we should follow the guidelines to save water for us and our future generations. Each year there is a theme for the world water day. The theme for 2016 is “water for people, water by people”.
As the population of the world is increasing, we face many problems like shortage of natural calamities. Some countries of the world are also facing water shortage which is very disastrous for them. It is because people do not handle them properly .some waste them while others don’t even get a drop of water. Therefore, everyone should save water and share it to others and can save many lives of people suffering from shortage of water.

World Water Day – 22/3/2016
The World Water Day is observed on 22nd March every year to create awareness on the importance of water and its conservation. The theme for this year is “Water for the People, Water by the People” while the international theme is “Better Water, Better Jobs.”
People all around the world have participated in the celebrations of the World Water Day and our school had a small programme for the day. There were some charts and banners hung or pasted in front of the assembly ground.
After we recited our prayers, the programme kicked off with a speech from Tandin Wangmo from class 10 ‘J’ who spoke on the reason for observing the day and the importance of water and its conservation. It was a well-spoken speech which delivered new and useful information on the importance of water.
Up next, was a cultural programme, performed by the students of class 10 ‘G’. The students held charts which had messages on water and its uses and its conservation. The song was also beautifully sung by the girls.
Then was the skit which was solely based on the conservation of water and it was funny and entertaining to watch since all the actors had done a wonderful job in playing out their roles. At the end, the characters of the play read out a theme.
The girl’s Health Captain delivered a “Vote of Thanks’, thanking all the people who had participated in this event and this marked the end of the programme. The health club members had done a great job on this event.
